Farmer's Daughter Hotel

Wednesday’s Wish Trip, Farmer’s Daughter Hotel- Hollywood, California

Love me some down home. I recently thought I was headed to Los Angeles on business. You’d better believe I am OCD looking for the perfect property to stay….enter LA, 300 hotels (well 299 to be exact), and on a budget. Tough bill to fill, huh? If you could be a fly on the wall of my brain, you’d be exhausted. My research was worth it though….this down home Tennessee girl found just the ticket, the Farmer’s Daughter Hotel in Hollywood.

Located on Fairfax between Melrose and 3rd Street, smack dab in a neighborhood once known for a passel of fabulous farmer’s markets, sits a modern mixture of clean lines and down home kitsch. Rooms with denim duvets, refrigerators (for your Trader Joe’s run for two buck chuck), and DVD players you can set up shop for a nice long business trip (or play). Speaking of play, don’t tell me you don’t love some Price is Right, the FD is a hop skip and a jump from the CBS filming studio and other noted attractions.

Farmer's Daughter beds

During my research they had me with their honest sense of humor…The “Knockin’ Boots” package. “This package includes custom Farmer’s Daughter knickers (otherwise known as undies, boyshorts, underpants and bun huggers), chilled lemonade and a bottle of bubbly – Everything you need for a raunchy roll in the hay. Do it at the Daughter!” A little too bold? Book the “No Tell” room and well, have dinner & dessert in bed. No one will tell.

One other word caught me, well two depending on how you spell it- picnic. Oh yeah, they have a designated picnic area. Y’all know I am a foodie, and how great is it that you can get dinner to go and sit outside to enjoy it and the Cali evenings (near their pool)- I love that! Don’t feel like going anywhere, head to their restaurant TART. Open for brunch and dinner, TART serves up grass fed beef, fried chicken & wicked french toast with a side of shear genius…a bottomless Mimosa for $15 (between 11am-4pm daily). Hmmm, I see breakfast, my laptop and a Mimosa- somehow that makes impending work more palatable, literally.

Farmer's Daughter brunch

Sadly, my trip to LA got cancelled. On the upside I know just where to go when the friendly skies take me west. So check out the Farmer’s Daughter, looks like she’s a pretty little filly!
