Wednesday Wish Trip, Kolarbyn Eco-Lodge-Skinnskatteberg, Sweden

Let me guess. These first cool fall evenings you grab a cozy sweater and can’t help but think about camping and the perfect s’mores, huh? Mmm yes, s’mores…I digress… Since we here at Jane are outsdoorsy gals- we have to share some information about the perfect place we’ve found to camp located a couple of hours outside Sweden’s capitol, Stockholm. Kolarbyn Eco- Lodge. Kolarbyn is comprised of 12 little forest huts in a heavily wooden area that looks like Frodo from Lord of the Rings could be your camp mate. The huts are primitive but adorable with lanterns, sheepskin rugs and quaint fireplaces ready for romance, snuggling or your own rendition of 50 Shades of Grey gone Swedish. Expect no running water, electricity or en suites, instead there are outhouses and if you feel racy, head for a skinny dip to rinse off. If you are interested in taking a group, several activities and classes can be planned such as, survival classes, horsebackriding and fishing. If it’s just for two, perhaps you’d want to consider snowshoeing, berry picking (seasonal) or going on a moose safari as there are numerous in the area. If you are looking for a little more luxury consider their luxury outdoors package which includes: dinner and breakfast, access to floating sauna and rowing boats at Kolarbyn. Picnic basket or lunch, two course dinner, double bed, breakfast and free access of the sauna at Karmansbo Herrgård. During select times of the year an organic self service breakfast is available!
