Dog Friendly Hotels & Travel

Faeden at La Posada Hotel, Winslow, AZFor a dog lover like me, there is nothing worse than finding a cool place to stay that you’re all stoked about visiting, and then finding out that they don’t accept dogs! Booooooo! So when I want to make sure I’m planning a Faeden (our dog, 13 year old Lab, her name is Gaelic for golden) friendly visit, I go to bringfido.com. In addition to being “fido” friendly, many properties listed are unique, locally owned hotels, resorts and B&B’s. While I’ll admit there is a time and place for a Super 8 stay and they are often pet friendly, (such as all the family fly fishing trips growing up when we were on the road for several weeks and needed a cheap place to hang our fishing hats) when I get to hit the road with Fae and my hubby, we have a bit more discerning taste for a weekend getaway. I also have the concern of veterinary care in the event of an emergency while traveling, what can I say, I’m a protective, well prepared mama, bringfido.com has veterinarians listed as well as directory for information on “pet stores… doggie daycare facilities, sitters, groomers, trainers, and other pet professionals in more than 10,000 cities worldwide. “

So don’t leave your furry family members at home, trust me, they are bored and probably eating a couch cushion right now to get back at you for leaving them!
