Wednesday’s Wish Trip, Sea U Guest House-Bathsheba, Barbados
(We get it. Sometimes the recipe for a perfect vacation is just R & R. No hustle, no bustle, no itinerary. A few books, magazines or maybe your iPad and you are good to go for a week or two. Looking for the right spot? We are dying to go to Sea U Guest House and cottages in Bathsheba, Barbados. 9 divinely simple, yet classy tropical rooms/cottages each adorned with beautiful island touches. If you’ve been following Plane & Jane, then you know we are not fans of the megaplex resorts, we like individual attention. Attention is king, or shall we say queen at Sea U, as they are happy to book any excursion or tour. From the more predictable horseback riding on the beach, (which Jane is dying to do in the ocean, bareback) to an island style cooking class, they can make it happen. If you are more inclined to stay put, no problem. With a reasonably room, you can afford a 1 hour massage costing $65, perhaps you have a couple during your stay! A lovely breakfast of homemade banana and coconut breads accompanied with fresh fruit and jams are the perfect end to a hearty egg and bacon breakfast, which is all included daily with your stay. If you are interested, they offer a 3 course dinner each evening. While they don’t serve lunch, your room is appointed with a kitchenette so you can pop back to your room at lunch to reapply your sunscreen and make a sandwich or if your feeling lazy you can fall back into bed or your own hammock on the porch….you did say R & R didn’t you?
Interested in traveling with your posse? Whether it is your best gals, or your extended family looking to have a reunion, you can rent Sea U as a group. Imagine having everyone right there. With a beautiful serene front porch that extends the length of the main building, it would be perfect for an evening card game. I can just hear sandy feet scuffling the length of the deck, kids laughing and wine flowing. Shall we all book now?
